Intelligent Traffic Systems and Solution

As someone once said, “Anybody driving faster than you is a maniac and anyone going slower is an idiot.” This little statement really applies to Bangalore.

This model provides an intelligent mechanism to solve traffic management problem in “Namma Bengaluru”.

IBM can involve with the state government of Karnataka to provide a technology which is similar to the one provided to the Swedish Government. The Stockholm traffic solution design which was implemented is well suited for Bengaluru.  The cameras fixed at the traffic signals which sends data (reads car number registration plate) to a large hosted servers in a control room to track and fix the traffic signal time to ‘X’ sec for red-light, and ‘Y’ for green-light.
The traffic signals (Sensors placed or cameras reading the data which is sent to a control room) should sense the density of traffic and clock the corner signals.
Say for example: There are four corners and traffic density is high in corners 1 and 3. The traffic signal time should be adjusted or automated to fix the time to allow the traffic to pass through for 30sec and on the other hand giving 25secs for other two corners to stop.

The metro is not a solution
None of us vil be alive when it is finally built,100yrs from now.
Cost is 100000Cr.for city wide coverage. Beautiful technology ,but what we need is a solution through technology.
In sum: Road widening is useless, harmful. Metro is too long term, too costly
The best solution: Corner Intelligent Traffic Analyzer and Solution Algorithm.
